Museum Olympus 2016
On 3 December 2016, during the 5th Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum, the Atrium of the General Staff building of the State Hermitage became the setting for the prize-giving ceremony of the Museum Olympus 2016 competition.
The awards ceremony is traditionally held in the museum that won the title of “Museum of the Year” in the previous round of this competition for the best museums of the city and region. In 2015 that was the State Hermitage.
This year the winners in various categories were the Central Naval Museum, Saint Petersburg State Museum of Theatrical and Musical Art, the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Preserve, the Staraya Ladoga Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Preserve in Leningrad Region, the State Museum of Urban Sculpture (Mikhail Anikushin’s Studio branch) and the Peterhof State Museum Preserve.
Our exhibition "The Russian Revolution 1917-1922" reached the final of "The exhibition of the year" nomination.
