Seminar “Implementation of European Convention on Human Rights – Norwegian and Russian experience”

On 11 October 2016 in a Museum of Political History of Russia took place a seminar “Implementation of European Convention on Human Rights – Norwegian and Russian experience”.The participants were greeted with a welcoming speech by Alexander Shishlov, Human rights ombudsman for Saint Petersburg, and Heidi Olufsen, Norwegian Consul General in St. Petersburg. During the seminar several topics were discussed, such as functioning of Norwegian and Russian governmental human rights institutions, their experience of interaction with the European Court of Human Rights, Russian and Norwegian NGOs and human rights lawyers practices of European Convention on Human Rights implementation etc.The participants of the seminar also had a tour of the Museum of Political History of Russia.
