This summer our country hosted a huge sport event – Football Word Cup. It was held in eleven cities of Russia from June 14 to July 15. St. Petersburg held the matches of the group stage, 1/8 final match, semi-final match and the match for the third place. Here played teams of Egypt, Iran, Morocco, Nigeria, Brazil, Costa Rica, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Belgium and England.

Fans from all over the world visited our city and did not ignore our museum. During the World Cup, The State Museum of Political History of Russia was visited by people who did not only come to the football matches, but also those who are interested in Russia and its rich and complex history. In addition to the usual fans, specialists who were directly involved in the championship came to our museum. Many guests of the museum have already been familiar with the history of our country and especially came to learn and see about the past of Russia more.

Large number of fans from Argentina visited our museum on the day of the match Argentina - Nigeria. They took audio guides in Spanish, asked questions, which relate to the past of our country. Many football fans who visited the museum looked very creative. They came in the national team shirts with the names of their favorite football players, with flags and other bright attributes.

Absolutely all football guests were friendly and cheerful, with their smiles and energy they charged positively not only the workers of the museum, but also other visitors. They were also able to buy souvenirs in our museum with the sights of the city. The World Cup has already finished, but it's very nice that The State Museum of Political History of Russia has become one of the most popular places for visiting among fans and visitors of our city.
