The Museum of Political History of Russia was admitted as the best in two categories at the award ceremony for the winners of the professional contest in the field of museum business «Museum Olympus-2019». The exhibition of the year was the exhibition «The museum of special purpose. To the 100th anniversary of The Museum of Political History of Russia. 1919-2019». In the «Nomination of the year» to the 75th anniversary of the full relief Leningrad from Siege won our exhibition «The Leningrad Affair: the City and the People». Besides, General Director of the Museum Evgeny Artemov received a special prize «For Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Museum Business».
The awarding ceremony took place on September 20 in the Grand Peterhof Palace. The winners received honorary diplomas and "Mnemozina" - a bronze statue made by the St. Petersburg sculptor Vyacheslav Bukhaev.
In 2019, the «Museum Olympus» contest was held for the eleventh time. The jury, which includes the heads of major federal and city museums, as well as leading experts in the field of museums, considered 79 applications from 42 organizations. This year, the Grand Prix was awarded the Museum of the History of Saint-Petersburg.
